Christian Theological Seminary

Students at Kerala Christian Theological Seminary in India begin their day of study.

Kerala Christian Theological Seminary began as Kerala Christian Bible College in November 1981 by the Churches of Christ. This project was in answer to years of prayer to meet the growing demand for trained Christian preachers and teachers to serve the churches of Christ in India.

The Kerala Christian Bible College began with the help of Highland Avenue Church of Christ in Illinois. The project was dedicated to the loving memory of Todd Andrews, who was killed by a school bus he was exiting in front of his house.

Since the beginning, the college has been committed to biblical standards and academic excellence. All teaching strictly adheres to the biblical principles of separation from modernism and liberal tendencies in viewing and approaching the Word of God.

The Seminary is the foundation of many other ministries in Kerala. Without trained ministers, our other outreach efforts would be severely limited or impossible. Because of the economic problems in the United States, many churches were not able to support this ministry during 2013. Please pray for our ministry and for financial support to continue our Seminary. Without the financial contributions of churches and individuals in the United States, the Seminary would not be able to survive. Without trained preachers and teachers from the Seminary, our impact in Kerala would be be in jeopardy.

Purpose

The sole objective of the college is to produce Christian leaders and soul-winners for the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish them in sound doctrine and faith. The school strives to develop sincerity of motives, purity of heart and concentration to the ideas of Christ, as well as to provide each student with the theological knowledge, spiritual, and vocational training for successful Christian service.

Statement of Faith

  • The full and final inspiration of the Word of God - the Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments. We recognize its infallibility, its entire trustworthiness and supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and life.
  • There is one God eternal existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe who reveals Himself in perfect holiness and love.
  • The full deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, His sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, and personal return to consummate His Kingdom. We believe there is salvation only through faith, repentance, confession, baptism for the remission of sins to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and living a faithful life until death.
  • The Holy Spirit who regenerates, indwells and sanctifies the Christian to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ, to serve responsibly in the contemporary world.
  • The dignity of man created in the image of God. That man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God. We believe in man's need for redemption and justification through personal repentance and through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
  • The unity of all believers who make up the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • The resurrection of all people either to everlasting life or to everlasting damnation.
